An important function of the Australalian Satellite of Cochrane Neonatal is to make available the results of neonatal reviews to consumers, including the parents and families of infants. In addition, we  acknowledge that topics for a Cochane systematic review may be informed from the experiences of parents and families.

The Australian Satellite of Cochrane Neontal is pleased to announce that it has formed a professional affiliation with the Miracle Babies Foundation. The Miracle Babies Foundation is a national organisation that "supports premature and sick newborns, their families and the hospitals that care for them". The Foundation provides a range of support and resources such as a free support program to families of premature and sick newborn infants, an online resource centre, support for hospitals. The Foundation also strives to raise community awareness and knowlege about infants requiring SCN or NICU care, and the challenges faced by babies and their families.

The CEO of Miracle babies is Melinda Cruz, who herself, is a "NICU Mum" of 3 gorgeous boys. Melinda has recently been named the "2011 Australian Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year" Winner. The judges said Melinda "had displayed incredible entrepreneurial spirit in building Miracle Babies into a national network with very little financial support."
